Chevron operates the only fueling terminal in the Humboldt area at their facility on the south side of Eureka. Fuel is brought to the facility via barges and pumped to the holding tanks on land for dispensing to the various gasoline stations in the area. Pacific Affiliates was hired to obtain the permits necessary for the installation of a 6 inch ethanol gas pipeline at the facility which would ultimately help reduce emissions in the vehicles that burn the fuel. Tasked with securing permits in less than 5 months, Pacific Affiliates’ strong local ties provided the basis to secure development and building permits for Chevron to meet state mandates for ethanol in fuel.
