An earthquake in January, 2010, caused significant damage to the local community, including damaging the Healy Bros. Building in Historic Old Town Eureka.  When Kurt Kramer and his Kramer Investment Corporation purchased the building he was committed to preserving a historical landmark in Humboldt County. 
Pacific Affiliates was contracted by Kramer Investment Corporation to perform various special inspections of the construction of the unreinforced masonry building undergoing a complete seismic retrofit, allowing the building to withstand future earthquakes.
