Formerly used to power a large portion of Eureka, the site known as the 14th Street Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) was owned and operated by Pacific Gas & Electric Company during the early part of the 20th Century.  Now nearly 100 years after its original use, PG & E hired ERM Corp. to investigate historic contamination and provide remediation alternatives.  As part of the subsurface investigation and future clean-up activites, the relocation of structures constructed by the existing owners and many years after the demlotion of the MGP was required.   Pacific Affiliates was hired to provide site surveys, design, permitting and project management of the building relocation element of the project.  Development permits were obtained in early 2013, Building Permits were obtained in the summer of 2013 and began in the fall of 2013.
