Originally opened in the 1970’s, California Redwood Company acquired the former North Coast Export dock in 2009 as a coastal resource for wood byproduct export.  As the result of changing market trends and the closure of local pulp mills, California Redwood Company hired Pacific Affiliates to perform subsurface investigation and hydrographic surveys of the dock in an effort to re-open the facility for chip export.  As part of the project, Pacific Affiliates completed all hydrographic and coastal surveys and mapping of the area.
