City of Eureka Bonnie Gool Guest Dock

Client:  City of Eureka
Funding Source: City of Eureka
Project Location: Eureka, CA

The City of Eureka Bonnie Gool Guest Dock was the first handicap accessible dock on Humboldt Bay.  A 200 ft long, floating concrete dock is not easily made handicap accessible when considering the nature of the site, tidal changes in Humboldt Bay and the strict nature of ADA requirements.  The project involved the siting, permitting, design, construction inspection and contract administration for the City of Eureka Inner Reach Berthing Facility, later renamed the Bonnie Gool Guest Dock.  Pacific Affiliate’s innovative design of the two piece aluminum gangway ramp serving the dock met all the requirements and continues to permit persons with physical disabilities direct access to the water and recreational craft.
