Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Humboldt Bay Power Plant Sediment Sampling

Together with AMEC Geomatrix, Pacific Affiliates completed subsurface sediment sampling and cross sectional surveys of the power plant’s former water intake and discharge canals.  Pacific Affiliates’ strong relationship with PG&E, safety record, and knowledge of the facilities proved invaluable to the safe timely completion of surveying and sampling at the site.  Collected data is being used to determine the quantity and extents of sedimentation, and potential contaminants as the power plant prepares to decommission the channel formerly used by the power plant.
